Metal Element Morning

Saturday 19th September 2026
Laikenbuie, Near Nairn

In Chinese cosmology, autumn corresponds to the western direction, sunset and the metal element. This is the return breath, drawing the yang inside the yin as the darkening days begin.

9:30am - 12:30pm - 4 blocks of 45 mins:

1. Standing stone Qigong and introductions

2. Seasonal tea and teaching

3. Qigong - rooting and moving with the trees

4. Tea, poetry and sharing

For the Qigong, we will be standing with the stones on the land here and rooting, moving and expressing with the trees (birch and pine).

All the practices and sharing will support us in deepening our attunement to the qualities of autumn, bringing healing, harmony and grounded awareness for ourselves and the land.

Qigong -

Forres Class

Source River Qigong is a sacred movement practice that I have developed, inspired by classical forms, which awakens the original breath of life, guiding energy through the body like a flowing river to restore harmony, vitality, and inner stillness.

I offer weekly local classes, in the living landscape, moving with the elements.

Location: By the Mosset Burn, beneath Castle Bridge, Forres.

Monday’s 10am - 11am

Drop-in £5 per class (cash into pot on the day)

Tea Temple Tea Ceremony

Next date to be announced soon…

Venue: Laikenbuie, Near Nairn

Tea is the first medicine in the Chinese Pharmacopaiea. A nice cuppa - is the go to medicine of the Brits!

This ceremony braids these two traditions, offering Chinese Tea Ceremony to begin and to open the Qi field.

This will be followed by a blend of local herbs to invite the plant energy of these lands.

We will touch in on some acupuncture points to deepen our experience and share a little poetry to savour the moment.
